Could a PhD student applying for a trading position, please?

Could a Maths PhD student applying for a trading position , please? I have applied for trading positions (even as analysts), but normally my application was transferred to a quant post. Yes, it does happen. Depends upon the sort of maths you have done, and various other skills.
