2nd yr undergraduate at Warwick without internship

If I was unable to secure an internship as a second yr, will I still be able to apply to the big banks for interhips in the third yr? This summer I am working in a hedge fund, but i got it mainly through family contacts. Do I stand a chance next yr, if I tell the banks i may want to do a masters? Asked by together, 257 days ago

The thing about the recruiting market for analysts at the moment is not that it is tough but that your best chance of getting a full time offer is via the internship programme. In fact in the last year may full time programmes have been completely filled by the previous summer’s internship cohort. That is obviously not great news for those without internships at the banks such as yourself. However, one thing that banks, at least on the markets side, tend to revere are hedge funds and many bankers are trying to work for hedge funds as the upside can be enormous. So your hedge fund internship should hold you in good stead , it mattes not how it came about, you don't need to disclose that; and while there are limited places out there, it should put you in the mix. Warwick too is a target university and if you can secure a first you should be competitive.
